I have decided that I am only going to post serious posts and probably (probably) only woodworking related. No promises but I’ll try my best. Although, I would like to discuss my defunct trucking company which I am thinking about starting up again. I feel the economy is coming back and goods are going to start moving. Goods moving equates to trucking requirements. I want to be at the front end this time. All the trucks I’m thinking of buying are used and need reshodding. However, the ROIs I have seen are amazing. Anyway, more later.

I like it. Good job.

hmmm, didn’t you make a new years resolution a few years back about this as well? The posting about woodworking only? Not the weak attempt at a joke by saying I’ll try to only talk about woodworking, then promise more about your trucking ambitions. I hope that does work out for you, so you won’t have time to go trolling here.

DVK, man I’m disappointed in you. First we lost ranting rich and now you’re going to plumb up and fly right.

All work and no play makes for a very boring day.

(Re-)Starting your trucking company, and a positive Champions League outcome,
may be too much even for a man of your undoubted talent.
However, good luck.

I posted a serious thread and no one responded. Redoak, maybe you can respond to my serious 3m post. Thanks,

Being serious is very cool…and adult like. Being an adult is serious business, I’m not sure how to act. Maybe one of you adults can help me.

Have you noticed that humor is often taken seriously and serious posts are often laughed at?

Life is way to short to take much too seriously. Or another way to put it: Life is way too short to waste it being an adult….or what others think is adult like.

I agree. Life is too important to be taken seriously.

I was an adult once… No twice, I think…

Anyway, I can only fake for 8 or so hours a day. Just not worth being so uptight and serious.

Well DK, from a voice of over 30 years in the trucking business, I’ve been all over the lower 48 & some of Canada. I’ve pulled most everything from a bull rack to fresh eggs on a reefer, & if that’s where your heart is brother, go for it! BUT, make sure the work is there for your trucks & drivers before ya make promises ya can’t keep. I’ve owned trucks, & dealt w/brainless drivers that could not count, read a map, or tell time. On the other hand, I’ve drove for fellers that had them kinda drivers in his possession, & a brain dead dispatcher. And to top it off, had NO idea how to dispatch trucks, nor keep track of them. The main idea is, think things through. Treat folks the way YOU want to be treated. And, if you tell a man you’re going to have a wagon sitting at his dock at a certain time, be EARLY!! Otherwise, were I you, I’d just keep on woodworking. A lot less headaches.:)) That’s why I retired out, & spend my time w/my wife & dogs, grandkids & great grandkids, & woodworking in my shop.;);) Enjoy your day, brother.
