I have some extra #45 and Sargent Combination Plane cutters I’d like to trade for ones I don’t have.
I have lapped the backs flat with a progression of oil stones and finished with a hard translucent Arkansas.
These are the ones I have:

The Sargent cutters are on the left and marked with their sizes. These will fit a Stanley #45.
The Stanley cutters are on the right and marked with the number that matches the Stanley catalog and numbering system.
Here is a close-up shot of the prepared backs.

All of these cutters are in fine useable shape and ready to have the bevel honed to your chosen angle.

In exchange I’d like to trade for Stanley cutter numbers: 5, 6, 9, 19, 21, & 22 on a one for one basis. But I’m willing to listen to all offers. The link above will help identify what I’m looking to get.
Thanks for looking and considering.

I could use the #53, but I only have extra #29s. Maybe we can someday find a different trade.
(No I won’t trade the slick.)

Don-
I’ll trade all of them to you for your slick. How’s that coming by the way?

P.S. Seriously. How wide is your extra #29? My #29 (“3/4” beading cutter”) is an odd-ball 11/16” wide.

Chuck:

I hope to take the slick to a machinist tomorrow to see at least how much it would cost to “adjust” the back. Today SWMBO had other plans. The only time I spent in the shop was to see if I could take some tear out with a card scraper. I can. Anyway I’ll check the exact sizes tomorrow.

Chuck: I would like to trade my 19 for your 12. I’ll get a picture later.
