Topic tags/keywords: reclaimed wood bed hire help

Hi
I have been searching high and low for my dream bed…I know exactly what I want…but can’t find it anywhere. The only people that I thought could make it for me wanted to charge an outlandish amount of money for shipping. If this is not the right place to post, I am very sorry for any inconvenience.

Looking for a king size platform bed made from solid reclaimed wood. Would LOVE to have some drawers built in. Do NOT want any country style…. more “modern rustic”. I live in Maryland and would like my shipping cost to be at a minimum…or I can come and pick up within reason. I have pics of what it is that I have in mind….

Any help? Any takers? Please advise!

Thanks ahead for your help…by the by I see tons of gorgeous furniture here. You are a talented bunch!

Well, most custom furniture makers will ship their pieces preferably with specialized services that ship art and other precious cargo. Because of the amount of care needed in shipping your precious custom made piece, the price is indeed much higher than normal shipping options. But the trade of is a piece delivered with the utmost care and in pristine condition upon arrival at your home.

If you find a local maker, then pick up/delivery is a viable option. That would be the only way to save on shipping. Using a cheaper national service will ensure shipment handled with no care and high damage risk.

Just some things to consider from my experience.

Hope this helps.
