picked up this sweet grizzly 1018 the other day for a whopping $250 a little elbow grease and a home made blade guard and this thing is ready to rock. Guy also threw in about 10bd ft of walnut and 10bd ft of white oak. This is my first jointer and probably my last.

Very nice indeed. I think Grizzly sells replacement guards, and they’re not expensive. Might be a better option if yours turns out not to work like you want.

I looked on grizzly website and it says the guard for that one is discontinued and didn’t have a add to cart button. This one works well only thing wrong is ill have to replace the spring every so often.

Before I posted that I checked and it seemed to be still available. You should double check it and if yours works that’s fine obviously, but it’s nice to have options just in case.
