Topic tags/keywords: question

I’m looking into decals for pens and found this excellent guide: http://content.penturners.org/library/pen_blanks/decal_blank.pdf
But John Austin uses Inkjet clear decal paper over light colored blanks and I would like to affix decals on dark blanks like walnut. Does anyone know of an option for decals over dark wood?

Kim might try posting your question over at IAP. Have admired and not so impressed with decal pens never thought to ask how they did it.

Thanks, Bill. Yes, that’s where I went and found the solution: use white decal paper instead of transparent.
The reason I’m interested is a local restaurant owner wants me to build a large display case as a gift shop. Most of the articles in the shop will be my stuff. He also asked me if I could engrave the pens with the restaurant’s name on them. That’s when I got interested in decals.
