A guy has this for sale at 175 said it was used once. 3 plane. Is this is good deal or should I negotiate lower. -- Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson~ |

That’s a pretty good price. You can always offer a bit lower, but I wouldn’t feel bad about paying 175 for a 734 that’s been lightly used. -- Bill M. "People change, walnut doesn't" by Gene. |

If he bought it new nab it. & a belated welcome to LJs KarenMW. I paid 200.00 for a used Dewalt 733 and it’s been great. |

That is a good deal IF it works as advertised. Run a board through it and see that it does its job with no issues. -- " I'll try to be nicer, if you'll try to be smarter" gfadvm |

Apparently the individual had it on 25 different sale sites. It was already sold from last night. After looking at everything he has for sale, I believe he buys it somewhere, maybe auctions and sell them higher. Think I’ll look into a new one -- Do not follow where the path may lead. I have the 733, which is the predecessor of the 734, essentially the same machine, just with 2 knives instead of 3. It’s been great for over 15 years and I’ve used it a lot. When I upgrade, it will be the 734. -- Bill M. "People change, walnut doesn't" by Gene. |

I have the DeWalt DW735. I have had it for about 4 years and have ran probably 1,900 to 2,000 feet of lumber through it and it has never failed me. I have yet to replace the original blades as well but unlike most people I check the lumber for metal via a magnet and I make several passes to get to my desired thickness whereas most want to take to deep of cuts to get there faster. I’d look for a sale on those via the internet … -- EdwardNorton |
