I am just begining with LJ forums. Really do like it. I would like to take some of my images from my computer, and insert them in the forum threads. Is there a real simple way of doing this. I have inserted images in the Project section, with no problem, and also inserted images in the workshop. very sucessfully. But the info. that I am finding to just get the image in a reply , seems very envolved and complicated with all the uploads and downloads. any help would be greatfully appreciated. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words.

May God Bless

I clicked on the help button, & found this for you.

Also GaryK has this tutorial. That’s very good.

Dick’s post is a good guide to inserting pictures in blog and forum. The process is different for these pages as opposed to projects and workshop pictures. Basically what you have to do is e-mail your pictures to a third party such as Flickr or Photoshop and once loaded copy the direct link and paste it into the section of the blog where you want to insert the picture.

It is a little cumbersome but I am sure that this protocol helps keep the cost of administering the site down.

I think what Scott meant was “Photobucket” not “Photoshop.” I use Photobucket ( and it’s pretty easy to set up and upload pictures, then you just copy the html code from there and paste it into your forum post. Real simple. Hope you get it figured out.
