Indont understand why someone would pay so much for a tree root, that was put on a base!

http://www.bronsondesign.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=AH-2422&Store_Code=BDS

Came across this as i was looking up wood sculpchers, i can understand if someone carved up roots into something nice, but the contents in the link is pretty lame!

I have ceased to be amazed by the things that some people will spend a lot of hard earned money on. Of course, they probably don’t see how we can spend $3k on a table saw, $500 on a LN plane or $90 bd ft for Ebony. To each his own I guess.

I feel like I should be going home and collecting some tree roots.

Rule #1: There are no bounds on stupidity, it is truly infinite.

Even with that, the price is relatively low compared to other ‘art’ projects I’ve seen. Also, it’s only worth what someone will pay and it may never sell.

You’re overlooking that it comes with free shipping.

You obviously do not see the meaning in this work of art.

It represents the oppression of the working class man by the overlords, yet it is showing that the working class is the anchor or the “root” of all civilization. In this case the root is turned up side down showing a revolt by the working man. This is the epitome of man taking back his rightful place as his own master and trampling over the overloads.

Or something like that.

Now buy it and display it with pride.

And here I am thinking that it represents a stick on a post.

No no no!
Art is so much more than a stick on a post. The post is not part of the art. It is just there to show what will happen when the working class [Key the music] triumphs over his master. The post is a means to an end. The real POWER is in the root, nay, the POWER is that the root is up side down. There, dear sir, is the genius!

I am so awe struck I can think of nothing else but to attempt to reproduce this prophecy-on-a-stick. Seems like a page out of Stalins book.

FOR THE PEOPLE!
Geez, I am wiped out after that mess.

Dragon eggs cost less.
The way I see it is if this root on a stick thing was priced reasonably like $24.95, no one would have even noticed it let alone commenting on whether it should be considered as art or whatever.
At least whoever came up with that price got some response.

I am the bs master. I am here to add spice to any creation.

No go dig up a root and mount it.

You obviously are not working for the people. The proletariat is the only one who could afford such a sum. And they wont have such art. That would be the same as saying prostitutes for abstinence.

Were you doing this for the people you would do it for no fee.

This Commy propaganda is making my eyes bleed.

Its a root and the guy who mounted it has no idea what it is or could represent. He, like me, is a die hard capitalist who will make whatever the market demands. Me thinks he will soon leave the roots and move to something that will assist him in acquiring something more than raman noodles.
