Just moved to Millersville, near BWI from Florida. Spent the last month setting up my shop… I mean getting all the wife’s stuff moved in, and looking for woodworking clubs or like minded people that love building projects. Can anyone help me out.

Where is the best place to buy Lumber around here. I live close to a JF Johnson Lumber yard. Are they any good?

Tom: there is the Annapolis Wood Workers Guild They meet south of Hwy 60 on Hwy 2 I believe. I’ve been to one of their meetings.

I’m president of the Mason Dixon Woodworkers. We meet in Delmar De/MD about 1 1/2hrs from you/

Well, there’s a Woodcraft north of Baltimore, just off 695. Sadly the faster way to get there you have to go through the Fort McHenry tunnel and pay the toll.

Welcome. Some of the best deals on wood can be had at Hickville Planning Mill in Clear Spring, MD, probably a llittle over an hour from you. It is Mennonite owned and they have a huge selection of wood. They are open during the week and until 12 on Saturdays. If you come up sometime let me know and maybe you could stop by as I am only a few miles from there.

Welcome to MD! I live over in Ellicott City. I’ve been to World of Hardwoods and they have a decent selection. PM me and I can fill you in on some other places I’ve been buying hardwoods from that have much larger inventories of stock.

Maybe we should start it up again and rename it ”still living in maryland- where are all the woodworkers?”

I’m in pg county Upper marlboro. I’ll have to look in to the Annapolis WWG.
