Topic tags/keywords: question tablesaw

Hi everyone and thankyou in advance. My question is about the Leeson moter in the new Grizzly G0690 TS. What’s special about a Leeson moter and how does it improve the saw? I’m new to making sawdust and what I read on this site about the new saw is accompanied by prase for the type of motor.

Leeson is just a well made motor with a good reputation behind it. I have the saw your thinking about and it is a power house…has never bogged down or broke a sweat at anything I have thrown at it…and I have shoved some hard stuff through it.

Leeson, Baldor, and a few other top names tend to use better metals, heavier copper, better bearings, etc. than the off name cheap Chinese imports. They’re made for industrial use and enjoy an excellent reputation.

Thanks for the info. Don, I’m glad your happy with your saw. I’ve been eyeing it all year but my ducks aren’t in anything close to a row. Yet. I like the price and quality of the G0690 but shiping is always a BIG factor in Ak. However, Jet/Powermatic and Delta are all I have locally. PM is too rich for my blood and I’m not sold on Delta. Maybe Jet if the saw is comparable to the G0690 and not much more price wise after shiping.

Thanks Don. I called Grizzly about a month ago on this deal. I asked if alaska gets free shipping or just a discont. The person didn’t know and the one who would was gone for the day. I haven’t called back as agin my ducks have escaped the coop :)

I’ve had a Leeson on my compressor since 1980. One starter capacitor in all that time.
