I would like to take this opportunity to highlight the excellent customer care offered by Veritas.& Lee Valley tools

In July last year I purchased several Veritas planes from Lee Vally Tools. Long story short, I was only recently in a position to make use of them. Unfortunately, one of the planes had some defects in the casting of the main plane body ,which to be honest surprised me when one considers the level of quality control normally associated with the company.

Suffice to say, I was not overly surprised, albeit delighted when within half an hour of emailing Lee Vally, informing them of the defect I received an apologetic response informing me a new plane would be sent out to me upon confirmation of my address. I was, in addition free to hold onto the original plane.

Veritas planes are not inexpensive, however the undeniable quality of the item coupled with outstanding customer care make them nothing short of a bargain.

Well done Lee Valley & Veritas

My experience with LV has been stellar, as well.

There are a few companies that give incredible customer service day in and day out. Lee Valley is one of, if not THE, premier woodworking customer service companies. Kudos to Rob Lee and his team!

Here is the offending defect. No questions asked by LV, just an assurance the plane would be replaced with no need to return the old one.

Absolutely fantastic service IMHO.

That is the normal response from LV. Outstanding company who still believes the customer is the key to success. I try to help whenever the budget allows. LN is also a responsive company in my experience. It is good to have two woodworking giants so customer oriented. In all fairness, I’ve had pretty good service most companies I deal with in pursuit of the hobby.

I also have had nothing but positive experience with Lee Valley, and use a lot of their planes and accessories.

Always nice to support a Canadian company and buy Canadian made products!
