Excellent video from Infinity tools on the differences between up cut and down cut

spiral bits. Compression bits explained as well.

These new fangled bits are great.

Good stuff.

The bits in the photos are Whiteside router bits. I don’t believe Infinity makes any like these. I’ve been using the double bearing Whiteside compression bit for quite a while and it is a great bit. When I was looking for a larger compression bit with upper and lower bearings only Whiteside had them…maybe that has changed?

Thanks, I checked the Infinity site a couldn’t find them anywhere. If Whiteside has these then their gonna be major $$$$. Looked interesting though.

Thank you

Nice bits!!! Too big for my uses. I generally stick to 1/4 or 3/8 inch with 1/2 inch being a rarity.

Thank you for showing what’s new :-)

You’re welcome Ward63.

It’s amazing how these new bits work with zero tear out when

used properly.

I used the pattern bit and the cut was smooth as glass with no tear out
on the top and bottom of the plywood.

its not new
its just new to those who aren’t in the trade
keeping up on the newest and greatest innovations, be it hardware, be it tooling, be it tools
is almost always decided by the result of having perfection
be it a hand plane
a bench
or unparalleled engineering
none of which come cheap : )

Thanks for the post. I’ve seen them before via Eagle America I think and wondered if the $$ was justified. Glad you had the results you did using them. When the wallet gets fattened up some, I will consider buying them…..
