Don’t envy that job. Lots of work and time. Good thinking. -- Respectfully, Paul |

Thanks, I wish there were 2000 doors, ($$$ per door) It’s the deadline that hurts. -- Because I'm gone, that's why! |

Hey, hope u r still here. I should have commented myself because I enjoyed looking at the door rack. I actually do a very similar door rack but I think the one you posted would work great. I should take picks of our door room and post it for u. We tend to do a lot of doors so we can relate. I also hate deadlines, but we push through. A little off subject, more of venting here myself but since you do what we do I feel you will relate. In the last couple weeks I have been beaten on bids by shops by around 10,000.00 or so. It is very depressing since we are trying to survive and provide. The bids were on homes in the 1 million value range, which is where we tend to work in a lot. The sad part is my bids were very very fair. My last defeat was a bid I gave a builder I worked with on 3 homes last year. It is a tough world, but to get beat by 10,000, 11,000.00. That has me shaking my head and wavering in my commitment to this passion. Of course I am mainly speaking about builders who build in the million plus range. Though I have had some home owners also shop around, getting 3 to 5 bids, looking for the very lowest price out there. Take care my friend, and keep pumping out great quality. -- . |

And to be more detailed, I was beaten on 5 homes in the million dollar value range 8n the past couple weeks, 3 of the homes I was beaten on all within a week or so of each other. And I can say by my calculations the winning bids were in the 150 to 175 LF range. That is way too low. Hope you dont have to deal with this kind of low balling stuff we deal with here. It hurts. -- . |
