I recently found an old plane I believe to be a type 6. My question is does this type have a stanley sweetheart logo on the iron or is this an early replacement?

That’s definitely a newer cutter / didn’t ship with the type. Not an issue, is it?

Agree. One of the type studies would tell you the markings on the original cutter.

Type 6 looks about right. I’d vote replacement iron during the SW era.

It is bent downward on the lateral adjuster side so I’m going to get a replacement blade.
