Hello everybody. I’ve been lurking around here for a while looking at all the great projects posted here and even used some as inspiration for my own projects. I wanted to post a question to you all. I’m looking for a source for small quantities of nice olive wood for projects. I’m stationed overseas and thought it might be easier to find around here, but not so much. Thanks in advance for your help.

Cookwoods.com usually has some.
Most Rockler and Woodcraft stores that I have been in usually carry it in various sizes, and most will ship.
Sometimes woodworkers source has it.

Cook Lumber or Bell Forest Products might be a source stateside. Woodworkers source in Phoenix too might be able to help.

I’m stationed at Aviano Italy right now. We have a woodshop on base and they have limited wood for sale. The guy who runs it is a local but doesn’t know where I can find olive wood around here, so if you know of a source I can tap here that would be great. Thanks

Maybe not a lot of help right now but you are probably aware that a massive cull is getting underway in southern Puglia in reaction to a virus attacking the olive trees. There should be lots of wood available soon.

heheehe, I’m glad I was done drinking my coffee this morning. Looking for Olive wood in Italy. Hehehe.. Isn’t Italy known for Olives?? If you pay the postage, I’ll send you some from Arizona, of all places…. We have a lot. heheehe
Ok, I’m done laughing. Time to get serious. I think you need to look in a local phone book, and find a lumber yard, or mill. You should find plenty of wood.
This local running the shop, what is his woodworking experience? Sounds like he doesn’t know much….... Olive
