Topic tags/keywords: cnc drum sander x-carve shapeoko

okay spors fans- here’s my question for you-

my woodworking is more along the lines of boxes, crafts and small furniture.

I’m intersted in either the X-carve CNC (12” x 12” working area unless you go up to 30”x30”) or the new Shapeoko (16” x 16”) I’m interested in only the 12×12 or 16×16 carving capacity.

So, if this was my next purpose and I was also contemplating adding a drum sander to my tool ‘army’ would there be overwhelming reasons to go bigger with the drum sander (i.e. the Jet 16-32) vs a smaller drum sander (jet 10-20 which has shakier reviews?

What would you suggest? I don’t foresee ever going up to wide panels to need the surface area of the 16-32 but people usually don’t regret buying the bigger machine if they can.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
