Topic tags/keywords: router

I recently bought a whole bunch of stuff (major score) from a super-nice guy that was selling off all of his dad’s old woodworking stuff. When we were almost done he tossed in an old military ammo can just because I had been checking it out.

It was full of random bits of sharpened metal. The guy said his dad used to create his own router bit profiles with them. I’ve never seen something like so I’m wondering if he was talking about moulder heads? Anyone have ideas?

Years ago(late 60’s-70’s Rockwell Delta had a moulder head for a table saw and thats what the blades look to be. They made stock blades as well as ones that were blanks which could be ground to make non-stock shapes.

Could be for a shaper head.

I have two of the single knife moulding heads and I wouldn’t give it up for anything. Cust knives are easy toake as I know the geometry to grind the knives. Corob cutter has taken over the craftsman and delta heads so knives are still available.

@rick1955

Didn’t know they still made them. Thanks for the supplier name. Have the complete set of old Rockwell/Delta 3 knife cutter head and cutters but do not use it much anymore.

Thanks again for the name.

Nice. Maybe I’ll have to get one of the blades so I can try these guys out. Thanks everyone!
