Have any of you guys ever had any experience with this company? I like this saw, looks well made.

My opinion.

I wouldn’t deal with Laguna tool. To many customer complaints. “Platinum Series” mean made in China.

I inquired about buying a tool from then one time and was put off by the rudeness of the salesman. That was some time ago.

I have had personal experience with Laguna, all bad, poor product and even worse customer service. Steer clear of this company,There are many others who have had the same experience I have.
Take a look at grizzly band saws.

I’ve heard both good and bad about Laguna. Their Italian made bandsaws are supposed to be pretty good. Their Asian made goods are pretty comparable to other Asian imports from Jet, GI, Grizzly, Shop Fox, Baleigh and others….in same cases, the tools can be nearly identical.

What concerns me are the high number of complaints I hear about Laguna’s CS….it seems to be disproportionate to the amount of machinery they sell. If all else is equal, I’d expect to hear the most complaints from the company who sells the most tools….that doesn’t appear to be the case with Laguna…it looks to be much higher, though in fairness, I don’t have numbers to back my speculation.

If I were in your shoes, I’d proceed with caution, and would compare the particular tool very closely with others before making a purchase. If they didn’t offer a distinct advantage, I’d find one that did.
