Planning a vacation in Tennessee in May and looking for input on things to do and see. Going to fly into Nashville and rent a car, Memphis is a definite stop and thought about going from there to Chattanooga. I like history but am open to anything. Probably have to stop at the Jack Daniels distillery.

The Chattanooga Aquarium is well worth the visit.

I agree with Jerry on the Chattanooga Aquarium…

If you are interested in the Civil War, there’s the National Park in Chattanooga National Military Park (NMP).
TN has many CW sites/NMP’s. Shiloh really impressed us.

Here’s a link that may help you.

You can also use Trip Advisory site & put in a location (ie. Chattanooga) & click on attractions to see what’s available.

Happy trails.

I lived in Memphis for 20 years….Lots to see and do if you’re a tourist….

(1) Graceland….Elvis’s home….
(2) Mud Island and museum….
(3) Beale Street…be very cautious there..
(4) Gibson Guitar Co…..
(5) Casinos in Ms., if you like them..
(6) Bass Pro Shop…..

Just a few things to get you started, if interested, while there….Many more things to see, also…

The Lost Sea is an underground lake and you can take a ride in a flat bottom boat. The fish have adapted to the darkness and quit growing eyes. Pretty cool.

Also the caves in Chattanooga are cool.

Graceland is cool to me.

Smoky Mountain National Park!!! It is the best.

Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburgh have ridiculous amounts of entertainment for tourists, but I just love goin in the park and hiking.

It has been about a decade since I was in Chattanooga but there used to be a dinner train ride that I always wanted to find time for.

Rick I am curious, what do you mean about being cautious on Beale street?

Graceland is in a very dodgy area, be cautious there too. Day trip.
