There will be nothing coming in or out of my shop for an ungiven time due to expansion, I suspect by the end of this month into next month, the weather has warmed up and I’ve started on the addition but in order to expand, I had to bunch up the tools to make room for the demolition of a wall, once the expansion is complete then I’ll have to take time for the remodel of the inside tool placement and such.

I’ll be taking pictures and blogging during the process.

Sounds like the best reason to have to suspend work, good luck!

good luck! it’ll be a lot of work but definitely worth it in the end.

My advice- whatever size you were thinking about, double it!

now the fun begins, time for the work of expansion, then the fun of getting the shop back into position to be a shop, that will be the exciting time for you, getting all of your tools in place and ready to be your work shop again, now understand randy we will now expect all of your new projects to be so much better, new tools will mean better quality and better quality will mean higher prices to pay for the new upgrades, will there be new tools…if so what will you be getting…..have fun and i for one look forward to seeing the new shop come to be….i will even drink a mountain dew in toast of the new place….:)

Tooch, I sure wish I had the room or I would, I can how ever pretend it was going to be an 4’ x 6’ addition and double that making it 8’ x 12’ LOL

Klaus and Grizz, not going to be that much bigger really an extra 8’ x 12’, my shop is very cramped as it is and I got tired of bumping into tools and things so the extra space might not stop bumping into stuff but I hope it will slow it down LOL, only new tool that I have in my scope would be a bench lathe.

Thanks all and I’ve started my blog already, it can be viewed here, Shop Addition

Take heart, Randy. I had to suspend business for three months last year while I built a building for dedicated operations. It was difficult and stressful but now everything’s back to normal, back on track and a distant memory of hard work but interesting events.

Randy – take off on what Grizz said… it’s scary to think how you will be doing even nicer work – or perhaps you’ll just be happier doing it with the new space.
