Not yet, but I am seriously thinking about it. I’m already at my plane quota for the month. I’m having one custom made for me. It is about done.

Sweet! A custom made plane? What kinda profile? Other than some planes I’ve picked up in estate auctions, I don’t have many. I also have a lot of planes to clean up!

Thanx Wayne,

I’m sure I’ll be using this site a lot after I get going in my shop. I can’t wait! I just wish my regular gig didn’t take up as much time as it does. Don’t get me wrong, I love my job, I just wish I had more energy at the end of the day to get more done on the shop. Only seem to really do anything on the weekends.

Tom, It is a cash quota, not a numeric limit.

Deb, Yes it is.

Vic, I have the same exact issue except that my job is now eating my weekends and evening. I’m hoping things will slow down.

It’s a beauty, all right! (As I knew it would be!). If past experience with Veritas tools is any indication, the fit/finish/tolerances will be right on par with the proverbial Swiss watch. If you get one, give us a review on it.

Nice looking plane Wayne.

Sorry about the job/hours, but guess what. Once it starts like that it never goes back to the way it was. I have seen too many people start out with a few extra hours here, a weekend day there, and before you know it, the job has become 24 hours/365 days. If you start putting in those longer hours/days, then the company expects it more and more. Pretty soon an 80 hour week is considered an easy week. Sorry to get carried away, but I hope you can avoid that slippery slope.

Robert, So far I have resisted. I have one of Phil’s planes on its way from England and one I have my eye on closing today on eBay. May have to wait a couple of months…

Bill, I agree and globalization is making it even worse. With significant portions of the team in Asia and europe, you have real early meetings and meetings late at night. You pretty much always have to be on. As I have said before, I have unmeasurable appreciation for Frank’s life style and his freedom to walk the woods whenever he wants. Even though technology brings lots of benefits (Such as this forum), it also needs to be balanced.

My project goes live this coming Sunday. I’m hoping to take some time off on October and head to the north coast to do some walking in the Redwoods. I’m also hoping to get some shop time.

Wayne, I hope the implementation goes well and you get to take the much deserved time off in the fall. I did a 30 miler in the Rockies this past weekend with my best friend and it sure did a body good. At least mentally it did. My knees will tell you a different story. LOL.

Thanks for letting us know the plane is available. Definitely a beauty.
