I was matching a color Sunday and testing it on scrap when I decided I was going to have to mix a toner and spray it on. So I got put the HVLP gun mixed the stain and poured it in the gun and noticed the pigment sitting on the bottom of the paint cup. I put the lid on shook it up and started spraying. Well it wasn’t long before the gun started to sputter and then quit spraying. I played with the adjustments and just couldn’t get it to work. Finally I gave up, tore the gun apart, cleaned it and quit for the night. As I was laying in bed still fumming over the problem I relized I mixed oil base stain with,,,,,,,Denatured Alcohol. Beleive me it dosn’t work. The other stupid thing was with the jointer. I took the blades out sharpened them with a jig I found here on LJ. Which works like a charm. Got out the dial indicator spent a couple of hours setting up and rechecking the balde alignment. I had it perfect, put the machine back together, got ready to plug it in and give it a test drive. Turend the cutter head by hand to just check it out and realized I had put all three blades in backwards. BUMMER, had to start all over.

I don’t have any stupid shop stories at the moment, but I did cut the cable to my high def satellite service the other day when I confused it with an unused cable. LOL!

does this mean that you can joint boards from left to right?

at least all of those were fixable. nothing worse then measuring twice and still cutting too short on a $8bdft lumber… because you misdrew the parts layout.
