Deke. That is a pretty dismal post. Why even bother, with posting something like that?

As everything we do in the United States we throw money at the problem, but in this case we threw body parts. Instead of taking responsibility beyond the actual transplant we just let the situation work out in any manner that it may. I’m sure the transplant took place and then we sent the young man home and no attempt was made to help him, whether that be with compliance after the operation or with changing his life. We do the same with our federal money…throw it at the problem and hope something changes. Without active involvement in the outcome nothing will change. Madts, I agree it was a dismal posting. We should have done more. The heart was a second chance and we should have given him that chance. In other words it was a waste of a heart. The outcome could have been so much better.
