Woodworking Magazine is publishing a book containing the first 7 issues of the magazine. There is free shipping if you order before Sept 21st. This is one of my favorite publications. More info about the book can be found in Christopher Schwarz’s blog using the following link.

I’ve got all 7 issues and two copies of the DVD’s that contain the first seven issues. So I think I’ll pass. But I received the same e-mail. It’s an interesting way to get your magazines out.

My winning Shaker Cabinet in the Joinery Challenge was patterned after the same item in the first issue.

I bought the DVD too, but I guess I’m old fashioned and like books and magazine in printed form. I was going to print the files, but when I got the email the other day I ordered it that day.

Thanx Wayne, I’m gonna have to check out the publication. I had not heard of them..although I’m familiar w/ Schartz’ blog from a link at The Wood Whisperer. I’ve enjoyed his take on things and like that they are advertiser free.

Thanks for the tip Wayne. I just ordered one because they never stay on the stands long around here… The heavy stock mentioned in the description means it should last for many years to come.

woohoo! Mine came in the mail yesterday. What a wonderful thing. I’m about to buy some bench stones and what was the first page that came up when I opened the book for the first time? Chris’ article on the subject of sharpening and why he uses only certain stones (and combinations of types). Fantastic info!
