Topic tags/keywords: tool hack humor

My neighbour is a resourceful guy.
I went to him to ask for help on my plane that I want to refurbish.
On his table was this plane. I just had to take a photo.
I know this is not how it’s supposed to look like , but I suppose, do what you must.

It’s a Stanley no.4
hammer handle and a cazillion washers.

I wonder how many tool hacks there are on LJ?
Thanks all
K

Kay-
To my eye that is one butt ugly plane.
To my mind that is a well crafted “field expedient” repair to keep a tool up and running for another day.
I admire field expedient repairs. I admire them because I’m not very good at them.

Chuck….I think that’s a permanent repair job. Lol.
The amount of shavings on the workshop floor indicated he uses it daily.
And the proximity of where we live I can tell you he’ll never find the right parts to bring it up
original. Oh…. The front knob is an old drawer knob. I’m sure if I look more in his shop ill find other tool horror hacks.
