I want to paint a stained rice bed. I have already sanded and primed it. Is there some kind of wood putty that i can use to hide the grooves and wheat symbols on the bed post? Thanks

This may sound silly but you could try premixed dry wall compound.

I may work if the voids are not too large. It is easy to sand off with sand paper or a wet sponge. Try it in a hidden area to test it.

No matter what you use, the results may be less than desirable.
