I’m making a bandsaw box out of wormy maple, has anyone used this type of wood before? What would a good stain/finish to use to highlight the grain? I don’t want to make it too dark.

If what you are using is also referred to as Ambrosia Maple, then clear is your best choice.

We’ve used 1000’s of brd feet of Ambrosia Maple and use only a clear finish on it.
Here’s a table I built using Ambrosia Maple for the top with nothing but a clear finish on it.

I have made walking sticks (canes) of wormy curly maple and used a golden oak stain on it. Looks great! Highlights the wormy feature without darkening the rest of the wood very much.
