Traded this log for a little pile of oak lumber. The numbers written on the planks are the widths of the set. I cut 3 16' bar tops out of the main log and then cut it in half at 8'4" and made the rest into book-matched 9/4" table-tops. There are a couple of individual pieces not pictured, but for around here this was a giant! Best of all there is still a 6' crotch left from the top end of the tree!
Trevor- Long time no hear! Just let me know, I'm here most of the time.
Phillip- In the middle of Nebraska.
bobasaurus- A guy from Greeley makes about a yearly trip out here for stuff like this and says the same thing, no selection..
Ropelie- Hope you bought all you could get!
Rastus - beautiful stuff as always from you. Haven't heard from you in awhile, wondered how you were doing. My son is still milling away on the side, but good walnut is hard to come by. We are going to get some tomorrow night as a matter of fact!
Dynelator- Had been wanting to get on here but couldn't figure out the password considering email attached to it is no longer active, so finally got the laptop it was saved on going again..
I still have 10-15 pretty good walnut logs laying around from a big load I got a couple years ago, one big enough I'm going to have to get an Alaskan Mill to get it down to size to fit on the sawmill. After that though I'm going to be itching to find some more!
