thats a strange looking one, I thought I have seen them all. Heres a nice 12” DDM Northfield, latter model than the one you are thinking about. I’d like to know what it will go for, I would suspect around 1200.00 http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/tld/4949804866.html

That Crescent is certainly different from any others I’ve seen. I have a 12” Crescent and it looks similar in build to the Northfield mentioned above. $300 does seem like a pretty good deal if it can be made to work. I know if for whatever reason I did decide to sell mine, it would be priced more than the Northfield, but it does have a single phase belt drive motor, updated ball bearings and the gibbs with bolts and knifes are all there.

You have to plane from left to right, and the guard blocks your way as it opens?seems weird to use, love to have a planer for 300.00 just not sure on that one.plus I don’t have 3 phase 440.

I ended up getting the older Craftsman 6 1/8 ” I mentioned the other day—will post pics tomorrow. Got it for $100.
