If your post is less than an hour old, you can edit it to say something like ‘EDIT: Info already posted above’ or so. But you can’t delete it. After 60 minutes, you can’t edit it either.

I tried to delete it just after posting the response someone beat me to it and said pretty much the same thing. I found no “Delete” button only “Edit” and when I cut all print in the post and clicked save the entire original post was still there.

Yeah it’s silly that there’s no way to delete, but don’t sweat the fact that someone else said the same thing. We know you didn’t copy off of the previous poster.

I hate it when I spend 5 minutes answering a question only to be 2 seconds late ;-)

I wouldn’t be concerned either. You can’t read each and every post to see if something you want to say is a repeat of another comment.

True. I don’t read every answer especially if its as long as some of the ones I leave.

No. You can’t Delete but you can do what Smitty said right on top of your comment.

”when I cut all print in the post and clicked save the entire original post was still there.”

This isn’t uncommon. I don’t believe the site will allow you to Post a Blank Comment, so it reposts what was there before.

If you don’t want to waste your time typing an explanation something like “Sorry. Repeat Post” put a single Star, or something like that in.

If you get the same page back again, which has happened to me numerous times, even after a lengthy Edit, which I see as a SITE PROBLEM!

Go to the very top of the page and click on the circle with the arrow on it. That will REFRESH the page and you should get the one you edited to show. I’ve had to do it 3 Freaking Times now just to get this done!!

Or just hit the F5 key on your Computer.

Do NOT hit the “ANY KEY” or your Computer will Disintegrate before your very eyes! ...LOL..

I’ve had this happen numerous times. For some reason the site reverts to your Original Post prior to your Edit when you click on “Save” Possibly the Site can’t keep up with your Edit or there is a Technical Problem.

The remedy for this is very simple. After you’ve hit “Save”, either hit the F5 key or click on the Circle up top with the arrow on it. This Refreshes the page and your Edited Version should now be there.

Also I don’t think the Site will “Save” a Blank Comment If you’ve cut out all of the words. Best to post something on Edit. Such as “Sorry. Double Post.” There is no “Delete” button on a Comment.

Rick,

I do recall that being an issue with many sites back in the late 90s and early 00s, it was method to prevent mass/spam postings. I can assure you it doesn’t, I also had a clever thought, if I keep pressing back on the browser button to a point before the post then logging off would slick it but it was cleverererer than me.

Here’s another one for you, at least 4 times over the last 2 weeks the Lumberjocks link in my favorites/bookmark folder is dead. I must delete it then Google or Bing it, it happened as I was trying to log on earlier.

WOW! You got a lot of things going on My Man!

I keep a “Shortcut” on my “Desktop” to “My Home Page” been there for a couple of years now. Always works whether I’m Signed In or not. Sometimes I just browse around, not signed in. The only thing I can’t do is “Comment Or Post”” then I have to go and sign in.

I usually just stay signed in. If I do a “Clean UP” on my Computer it clears off that cookie and a bunch of other Garbage. Then my “Desktop Shortcut” takes me to the “Sign In” Page.

It’s odd that your Link Breaks like that. Maybe you have under “Tools”, “Internet Options”, “Advanced”, Go down to “Security” and see if “Empty Temporary Internet Files When Browser Is Closed” (About 10 Down) Checked. If so. Uncheck it. Of course that depend on what Browser Your Using. I’m using IE 10 and Windows 7. The one everyone Loves to Hate. ...LOL..

Good Luck: Rick
