I need a real nice figured piece of quilted maple. It has to be at least 1/2×6 x 10 inches. I want to make a Keepsake Box for my granddaughter. It is for the top of the lid. Anyone know where I might get this? Thanks for any help.

Bob

I buy all my QM from nwtimber.com, spend the time looking through their gallery odds are you’ll find something you like enough to buy. The last one I bought was a AAA 24”X11.5”X8/4 for $225. I only use it for embellishments, I hope it lasts for a couple yrs.

Here’s a couple examples from a project, I couldn’t believe the skull was so obvious in the 2nd or 3rd slice from the block. I just laid the router template on the slice and there it was.

I screwed up and damaged the middle panel and had to cut the one shown from a different slice, hence the diff in color and pattern. The customer didn’t seem to notice.

This piece is 42 inches long and 1 inch thick. It is slightly under 6” at 5 13/16 or so. I can lop off the end if you are interested.
