I am making a cherry tobacco pipe and my buddy provided an acrylic pen blank to use as the shaft (non bowl part). I was wondering if acrylic and heat is a toxic mixture and if so; does anyone have any knowledge as to an alternate material? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Might look up Lucite (acrylic) Bakelite, or Vulcanite pipe stems!

Cannont remember two products pen turners use to cast their own blanks! Cannot find commercial cast Lucite pen blanks. Might be cheaper to buy a Lucite pipe stem!
