I’ve got a Mark V taking up too much room in my shop. Inherited it from my father-in-law. It’s in great shape. It has the bigger motor (1.25 hp?). I have books for it and lots of attachments…no bandsaw. I’m in the Albuquerque area for pickup. I can post pics if anyone is interested.

Jeskl: Still got it. Still taking up some much needed space. I’ve got pics somewhere. I’ll try to get some up tomorrow.

Thanks!

Depending on the accessories, $500 might be a good deal. While it is not difficult to find a good used Shopsmith, the upgraded models 510 and 520 are a much better value than the original MKV 500.

On eBay, Shopsmith is a very active, usually having more than 300 items for sale. It would be easy to find accessories such as the bandsaw and jointer.

I just got a big yes to purchase a mark v not a 510 like I would haves like but it was to far to go and pickup so I bought the closer to pickup one whitch was a mark v.
It was not cheap but good for the price why because it comes with blades and other small stuff then on top of that shopsmith dust collection unit,Bansaw,Jigsaw, jointer,Belt sander. Im sure thers more I missed all for 1600.00 When it was bought 7000.00 was spent so I thought bthat was fair.

I just bought a shopsmith mark v greenie for 50 bucks needed about 100 in parts and paint now is looking and working great. Look on kajji for best results in Canada or Ontario Ebay can be a real pain in the you know what.

I have two mark v now and I like them very mutch for what they can do there table saw is not the safest in the world not really any that are but the older smaller table can drive you crazy so I would say a model 510 or 520 would be the best to look for of coarse if you find a cheap older make v and have room pick it up you will need parts at some point for the headstock and a few others.
