Somewhat new to wood working. My friend and I built a nice tv stand out of red oak 3/4 ply and 3/4 red oak (face frame). I needed a RO sander. I was going to just get the ryobi cheapie one, but the guy at HD convinced me the ridgid one was worth it, esp since it has the warranty. I have the drill and impact and like them, so I snagged it.
As I was sanding doors and stuff, it worked great. But when I started to sand the actual cabinet, I noticed something odd. I’m not sure if this is normal or I have an issue. When I hold the sander upsidedown or even vertical, it seems like the sander spinning motion slows or stops. It still vibrates, but doesn’t always spin. But for some reason, when its faceing down and I’m over the top of it it’s fine…. is this normal? The sander has all of 3 hours on it.
