When cutting the top of the case so it will fit the strike plate, is that cut determined by the width of the strike plate, or is there another measurement I’m not aware of. I’m using the Glenn Huey plans. I do see that the cut is perpendicular to the cut to match up with the slope of the sides, but I just didn’t see how to measure for that particular cut. Thanks for any help.

I am not help, because I have never made one. But two suggestions I have is this, first try to contact Glenn Huey. Since you are using his plans, maybe he can tell you. You should find a link to contact him on 360 Woodworking’s website. Second, you could try to contact Matt Cremona. He is currently building one of these. He might be able to help you. You can search his name and find him on several social media outlets, including YouTube.

Wish I could answer this for you, but I don’t know. Either of those guys could probably help.
