Topic tags/keywords: ring purple heart

I want to make some rings with ebony and purple heart, but I’m not sure how good the purple heart will do for outside bands, will it chip or ding up really bad.

Is there anyone who has used purple heart in a ring that can let me know how it works as ring material especially on the outside??

Thanks

-- Amanda

haven’t used it for a ring, but it is course grained like oak. I wouldn’t expect it to be very good compared to ebony.

It will be great! You’ll be smoothing over the edges so they shouldn’t chip. As far as dinging goes, purple heart is very dense. I say no worries.
