I am looking to find a place to locate a place to be able to purchase smooth laminate sheets to laminate some MDF for a new router table top.

I got mine a Home Re-Source store. They had a lot of smaller pieces left overs from a cabinet shop. Perfect for shop furniture and cheap.

If there is a Habitat Re-Store around they will have some of the same kind of scraps that are perfect for this. My store gets $5 each for the pieces, some of them are full sized sheets with a damaged corners or a split on one end.

One other thing to consider, I got melamine coated plywood. It is used for concrete forms

I got it from ‘Home Depot Supply’ which is a contractor version of home depot.

The one in KC is called White Cap Supply
it is 19mm thick (3/4) 4X8 and I paid 42 dollars 2 years ago
Great stuff, slippery, and glue doesnt stick and very rigid… basically Baltic Birch with a skin.

So I went to Menards at lunch looking at there laminate and every sheet there was a granite looking and it was not glass smooth like I was expecting. It wasn’t overly rough but seemed like a car surface that has contaminates on it. Maybe I am just being picky but I thought it would be a problem to use this they way it was.

How much should I expect to pay for this?
