I will use this tool for power carving wood primarily. Dremel 400 Series XPR has variable seed control while Rotozip RZ1 has more power, which tool will be more of a benefit ?

I have one of the dremel units with the flex shaft, and I’m not sure it would do a good job power carving. It’s a very useful tool, but I don’t think the flex shaft would hold up well under extended use. It tends to get pretty hot.
Just my speculation of course

I’d think that one of the more dedicated carving systems would be a better choice, such as this (just an example, I don’t know a whole lot about it)

Foredom would definitely be the better choice if power carving. A little more money but well worth the additional cost.
