Hi all,

I have a thin mesquite board; two edges straight, two edges “natural” (and very irregular). I need to cut about one inch off one of the straight edges. How can I maintain the straight edge/get a straight cut without using a normal fence?

All I can think is to use a thin piece of wood about the measurement I want in from the edge and mark using that.

Note: I have a miter saw and circular saw but no table saw.

Use a straight board as a fence guide clamped to the irregular board and use the circular saw?
