I know it seems like the coffee lounge is being over ran with “Scam” topics…but I guess we DO need to warn each other….this is what I got last night

“Tagged”...I got two last night…The e-mail said “You have been tagged by your fellow Lumberjock “Richard”...and the other said “Your Fellow Lumberjock Richard has tagged you to see his newest pictures”...when you click on them, it says If you can’t see the e-mail/pictures click here…then proceeds to ask all kind of “Personal” questions “to prove I am who I say I am” before it will allow me to see Richards message/pictures…I deleted them both!!

Some one has definitely gotten in our e-mail accounts….I guess they think we are all a bunch of country hicks…they need to think again.

I know, Don, this is aggravating. I got three of them yesterday from pozzy, littlelife and maryallisee. Martin is on top of it. These people are persistent. They don’t seem to miss any opportunity!!

Scott,
I guess we need to add “Richard” to the list, I also got those from “Pozzy”, but not the other ones…I normally do not even LOOK at ANYTHING I think may be spam mail, junk mail, scam and especially anything I think may be a virus or will add spy ware to my pc….I just delete them with out even opening them. But unfortunatly…Some of us DO e-mail each other outside of L/J’s…I know I do anyways.

So when you get something that says “Pictures” and it is from a “Fellow L/J”..... I just naturally clicked on it…NOT smart !!!

Forgot to add If you get the tagged e-mails…DO NOT OPEN THEM !!! If you do not have a good anti-virus on your pc…the second I clicked on them…my anti-virus kicked in and said…”this program is trying to retrieve personal info and rewrite programs on your computer”

.......... and I thought I was Pozzy’s only true love…......

If you don’t recognize it, don’t open it. Especially if you are on a PC. The attachment or link is usually what gets you.

Thats the kick in the ass…it came from someone I trust and thought might send me a link to some pictures…luckily I haven’t rebooted since opening the email, and nobody on my contact list has received any tagged invites from me. I am going to install the free Mcaffe protection suite from cox cable and do a full scan before I reboot to be safe,,

I got a pm from littlelife about something he wanted to buy. I didn’t even know what he wanted so I did not answer the pm. Now I know what they were up to. How did they get the personal e-mails?

Don, deleting the e-mails isn’t enough, you’ll have to erase them.
