Topic tags/keywords: vise rockler sale wood vise quick release question

Here it is

It’s 21% off currently, but for Father’s Day, it goes on sale at nearly 50% off tomorrow, down from $115 to $60. Any thoughts? Anyone used it? Is it worth it? I’m curious about the quality, and whether or not it’s worth it, even at half the price. The only other vises I have are a huge metal drill press vise, and a little aluminum machinist vise that came with my Sherline mini lathe. I don’t know much about and have no experience with wood vises, but it seems it would be nice to have one.

Thanks!

Are you going to be needing a vise to hold big blocks or just be running them through power tools? Looks like it is online only, so that’s almost 20 bucks back up to ship!! :-((

tomorrow and sunday there’s the in-store special where it’s 50% off… so no shipping – but there IS sales tax (in most states).

Gary – if you need a vise for an upcoming workbench – this would be a good choice for that price. the quick release is real nice – this one I think you have to pull on the lower level to release as opposed to 1/4” turn on other QR vises – but it’s still a quick release.

There is a guy in Fort Bragg California with a bunch of Record vises, I think is a good oportunity for LJ’ers looking for a casted vise…..the problem is the shipping, those are heavy!

I put one on my workbench. It is a very nice and well built vise.
