Topic tags/keywords: question tablesaw

I have an old JET JWSS-10LFR (supersaw w/o the sliding table). Here's the manual. Mine is the 30” rip capacity version.

I recently damaged the fence and instead of getting the same micro-glide fence (not a huge fan of it), I’d like to spend a bit more to upgrade to 50” rails and a biesemeyer system. I was thinking of the BC50T2

Looking through the Biesemeyer manual, I’ll have to drill 2 holes into the cast iron table and 1 into the left side leaf (may be optional) for the front rail to work (these JETs have a “combination” front rail/guide tube that bolts under the table and leaf).

My question, has any one had experience doing this and would they recommend it? In looking at a manual for the BC50T2, it looks like they provide a square and show you exactly how to drill it. I’ve just never drilled through cast iron before and wanted to gauge some opinions before I order this thing.
