My wife made a comment to me the other day, as I was opening up a new “toy” (As she calls them). Why do you change you mind so much on what you want to do? I explained to her that I’m not giving up the previous hobby, I’m just expanding my knowledge.

I started out woodcarving over 10 years ago. I started trying different styles of carving but ended up loving chip carving. Over the last 5-6 years, I have been traveling to different woodcarving shows. While at those shows I see many different things that get my mind spinning. I found myself making a “Bucket List” of things I want to try next.

Here is some of what is on the list so far:

Egg shell carving
Caricature carving

So, I ask “what is on your Bucket list?

-- While teaching a class, a gentlemen once asked me: "When chip carving an intricate design, what do you do when you are almost finished and the wood breaks off?" I replied "Cover the kids ears."

Greene and Greene style furniture, chairs, tables.

I have been picking up ebony for the plugs when I find it, bought some mahogany, just cannot seem to get on track to actually start…
