Heads up. Got one of those emails from someone needing to shift 7million bucks out of the country and offering 15% if I give them all my account details. This time the country it,s Iraq not Nigeria or the ivory coast. At least these assholes have updated the location to somewhere more relevant. Guess this trick must still work on the slow and befuddled, please make sure you,re not one of them. Safe woodworking.

oh, it’s ok – if it’s Basra you can safely give them your account info… as long as it’s not nigeria… basra is ok… lol

sad thing is though – that they only need a small percentage of people that will for for this scam… and apparently once in awhile they’re able to hook someone on…

I know. there used to be a huge wave of scams on eBay some 8 years ago… I was also contacted on the same line… luckily I read about it before hand… and had my fun with it.

i got 1 from a chick , her enclosed pic. looked like audrey hepburn .
she wanted to have my babys !
all she needed ( as i played allong ) was $500.00 bucks for a phone card , so we could talk , and figure out where to meet and start our family !
the give away is in the language , it just isn’t quite right !
.
sad but true that so many gave their money to various get rich ideas here and lost their retirement or kids future
money . they did it all right in the good old u.s.a. !

Refer them to Yoshie Zachafaree for international transfers of large amounts of money. He will handle the details for a fee as small as 2%.

I find it amazing that those emails are still going around, people can’t be that dumb can they? Not now. But then again, after reading a post Karson posted, I guess they are still out there.

I assume by now that everyone knows enough not to click any links in these mails. In fact, even though it’s tempting to open them to see just how ridiculous they are, you should not even open them. If you don’t recognize the sender, it’s safer to trash them. Opening the wrong e-mail might enable a RAT (random access trojan) that tracks keystrokes on your computer; stuff like account #’s and passwords.

Had a guy the other day that e-mailed that he wanted 4 Kreg pocket hole machines….the 3 grand + type. Just ship to a broker in Miami who would forward to Nigeria…and payment? Who knows!

Big need in Nigeria for #6×1 1/4” Pan Lube Type 17 pocket screw construction I guess….

Dave, Did you make the sale? :-))

Unfortunately, it’s not just the internet. When I first started business 25 yrs ago, 2 business aquaintances, with personal experience, warned me not to do business with the guy who built the tallest building in Seattle.

SST, I always wondered how could I have won if I never entered?? International sweepstakes are illegal in the US, anyway.

TopmaX, nope…thank God.

Now, if I can figure out how to get the Right Reverand Miko Madabi his 50 grand worth of stone tops I’ll be helping out an entire country!
