How are you celebrating?

Festivities kick off this afternoon at Harpoon Brewery St. Patrick’s Day Festival. First pour at 5:30. Haven’t missed First Pour in about 20 years now.

Then tomorrow, my Birthday, my wife is taking me to Woodcraft to purchase a new grinder and some turning gouges. Ain’t she the best? In the evening, we’ll be gathering with my fellow Parrothead (Jimmy Buffett fans) for our annual winter phlocking. We kiss off winter and say hello to Spring. Gods know I need Spring ASAP.

Sunday, we celebrate the birthday again (it’s actually a month long celebration) by returning to our old stomiping grounds as we hit the old neighborhood pub (Doyle’s Cafe) to lift a few pints and I’m sure a few tunes with road racing friends.

Thus then begins a full week of Irish events and festivities. Culminating on the 17th. I will be taking the day off from the office for this high holy holiday. I will be honoring this Son’s of Erin that joined General Washington and chased those British “gentlemen” out of my home of Boston. I will be returning to the same pub for 12 hours of songs, laughter, pints and the bag pipes of the Boston Police Gaelic Column. The wife will drop me off around 10am. and pick me up later. When I’m done. It’s been years since I lasted the full 12 hours. But a good Irishman has to at least try. Right?

So, I’m sure your planning out your month of celebrations.. After all, everyone is Irish this month.

Cheers and Sláinte

What a weekend. Great evening at the Brewery. The a shopping spree at the Woodcraft store

I was hoping to pick up the Rikon grinder, but they were out of stock. So, they ordered it for me. Plus, they gave me the sale price from last month.!

She also let me pick out a couple of new gouges.

Then a Sunday in the pub with the friends. Yes, much singing was heard bu the other patrons. some even joined in. Now, I need to give my body couple of days rest and get ready for St. Patrick’s Day next week.

A belated happy birthday to you Chris. Mine was Friday the 6th. Woodcraft is a very nice birthday destination—could be pretty dangerous too.
