Hey gang I just recieved an e mail form Charles Neil(fellow LJer) and he’s making a very generios offer to help a person in need. It’s also a way to get a great bargin on Charles DVDs I have most of them and there great.
Here’s a copy of the e mail from Charles.

“being politically correct never bothered me before.
I’m not a sit on my butt, do nothing sort, I guess you’ve figured that out by now….and I never worried that if doing the right thing made some mad, and I’ve never been one to back down from a challenge.

One of our good friends, yours as well as mine, who has helped us more than anyone knows be able to bring what we do to you, has been hit super hard financially. We all have, I know, but this is medical and job loss and everything is about to be lost, a lot already has. I’m not asking for something for nothing.
I’m cutting my DVDs to 1/2 price. We will pass all proceeds directly to our friend, less the cost of shipping. We have a place for contributions if you’ve got a full library, again, we’re not keepin’ a dime but I just can’t sit back and do nothing.
I realize that this may be conceived as an abuse of my email base but my email base is about helping and that’s, “all I got to say about that.” So I hope it offends no one, I would do what I could for you as well.

May the good Lord take a likin’ to ya.

Charles Neil ”

Jim, I just got the same e-mail. Guess I’ll have to look and see what I could use. I have never gotten any of his Dvd’s but everyone says they are great. See what I can do to help out.

Hello Jim and Neil,

a very good thing to help a fellow LJ in need.
I see on the website from Neil that you also can place a donation.
I hope we can help him.

well , you guys have humbled me..truely…the response we have recieved and donations from all over the world has been unbeliveable, for me the ability to help someone is wonderful, and it is all due to your own willingness to help, as i have often said this isnt a me thing but a we thing, the other thing for me is to see this many folks , in this economy, donate and buy based purely on my say so is quite humbling ..all i know to say is thanks you, not only for your gift’s but your trust..thanks all, it will never be forgotten

maybe you guys can help me, and then I can see if I can swing a purchase. how do these dvd’s compare to the youtube videos that chalres posts? I’m not asking if they are ebtter or worse. just wondering what you would tell a purchaser to expect if all the purchaser has seen is the youtube stuff.

I’m really interested in the finishing set (Even before this thread), but it is still a lot of money and the last thing my wife probably wants is hrs and hrs of dvds about wood finishing (I don’t understand why anyone would think this isn’t entertaining either, so don’t ask).

If I can’t get a good review, maybe I’ll start with something more affordable to ease my way in.

Have your say...
