I live in Gainesville, TX and would like to know a good source for cabinet grade lumber in this area. I imagine that DFW will be the closest place. Do any of you guys have suggestions on where to look? Specifically, I might need to get my hands on some 4/4 knotty alder to build a vent hood in the near future.

Try Plywood Co of Fort Worth. is the web.
Also try Barney Robinson in FtW.

Last time I was at Plywood Co., they had quite a selection of alder both rough and s4s.

If you are still looking, I just found this place on Saturday.
Hardwood Lumber in Dallas on Goodnight lane. I went to visit them and will make them my new wood guys!
