Topic tags/keywords: henry disston saw vintage

Found a Henry Disston no.12 and 30 inches long and in a very good condtion.I payed 20€ in a antiqueshop here in Finland. Now to my question , whats the real worth of the saw? I have tried to look on e-bay but I have not found one as long as 30 inches.

I haved removed the rust softly and repaired the handle whit nordic applewood.

Given the relative rarity of size and the fact that the plate appears full width, it may very well command a premium over the more common length #12s.

The handle repair (and what looks to be a lot of pitting in one photo) serve to drag it back down.

The saw market was on fire a while back, but even now it might well fetch between 100 and 175 USD.

Have your say...
