Rockler in store sale, great deal on a lathe.

Just figured I’d share this for anyone who was on the fence about buying a lathe like I was.

I went to Rockler to buy a few pieces of wood and walked out with a lathe. I was looking at buying a HF lathe just to get started but I walked in and asked the salesman what did they have in the way of cheap lathes and he directed me to the excelsior mini lathe http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=19446&TabSelect=Details and told me that there is an in store sale where if you buy the lathe they give you a $100 gift card!!! And the gift card is instant, not a mail in rebate deal. I couldn’t believe it, I got $100 worth of pen turning supplies (which were 40% off all weekend) and a quality mini lathe for $250! I figured I’d share this with everyone. I’m not sure if all stores are running this sale but the store in Sandy Springs GA is running it until the 7th of next month if I read it right.

Just a disclosure, I don’t work for rockler, I won’t make a dime off any sales, nor can I comment on the quality of the lathe, it’s still in the box. But I figured I’d share this deal with those looking to get started. P.S. The have a bed extension for $70, looks like a good deal too.
