I watched a dvd of a woodturner using home made stepped jaws from mdf .I know sometimes these can be bought in nylon for rechucking after cutting the stepps your self. Also in my engineering shop I have a selection of nylon I should like to try making these has anyone else here done so? and how successful were they? I should like to know how they were made although it is not rocket science I feel the tried methods of my friends here are important please share Alistair

I have tried the Nova nylon jaws and have had success with them. Also had one failure, put to much pressure on them. I think I will only use them for light applications. They are great to replace a jam chuck for finishing the bottom of boxes.
